Ingredients

  • 3 cup flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 1 grated apple
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ts baking soda
  • 1 ts vanilla aroma
  • 1 ts lemon
  • ½ ts cinnamon
  • ½ ts salt
  • ¼ ts black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 inch grated ginger root
  • 200g chocolate
  • optional: apricots

Bake for 30 mins at 150°C. Serve with powdered sugar or “Van Gilse apple syrup”.

Optional frosting: 1 cup heavy cream, ½ cup powdered sugar, pinch of vanilla aroma.
